If hypocricy were a crime, we would all be in jail.

How often is it, that somebody says something and does the exact opposite? From our parents to our friends, everyone seems to be hypocrites. Why is it so difficult to practice as we preach? We all have, at some point during our lives preached something and have done the exact opposite, this happens to me on a daily basis, because I’m good at preaching, not so much at doing what I preach.

It’s difficult to keep up with our promises, it really is. When there is so much going on and there is eternal confusion, especially in this day and age, where jobs are getting meaningless and money is becoming a depreciating resource, it becomes difficult to focus on one particular thing and make it work. The threshold for the skills required to be able to land a good job  to live a decent life has gone up and will continue to keep going up. This is how it is, this is how life is, and we need to accept it. When everyone is in such a chaotic state of panic, preaching bullshit makes us feel that much more better about ourselves, nobody wants to be utterly useless and nobody wants people to know what kind of people they actually are, because when people find out about what kind of hypocrites we are, and when they find out the extent of hypocrisy that we follow, all respect is lost. But then again, everyone is a hypocrite, so mutually, all respect is lost.

Preaching is one thing, actually following it is another. The most common occurrence of people talking big is probably at school/college or any such institution. Teachers and students alike, everyone loves to show how much better they are when compared to the rest, be it being a HR major or getting a PhD at some random place which nobody has heard of, they feel that it is their right to talk smack just because they are more qualified. I believe it to be true, more qualified people should be allowed to teach and preach as they please, but when they do it to extent, so as to compare themselves to those who they teach to, it only brings down their own value and it just simply feels weird to listen to such highly qualified individuals just degrading themselves.. Educational institutions have become somewhat of a joke, at least in my experience, there is not really much scope for actual development of skills, instead there is a lot of room for observing pretentious numb nuts and learning nothing from them.  This, I have learnt from my experience at a coaching center that I had been to for perusing engineering, of course I never ended up doing engineering, but that is something to make fun of me for, another time.

An argument can be made that I am being a little nihilistic and being somewhat of a hypocrite myself, and to that, I say, yes. I am being an hypocrite, because it is simply in our nature to preach as we please and do nothing about it.  I preach about preaching and why you shouldn’t do it. So in a way, this blog post completely nullifies what I’m trying to convey(if that’s not ironic, I don’t know what is).

Another place where I find a lot of hypocrisy going on is right here at home. Parents love to preach ideals to their children, when it so clear that they themselves don’t follow. If you’re a parent or if you’re living at home with your parents and you’re reading this, you probably know what I’m talking about. From doing the dishes to “cleaning your room” you’ll know that they are LYING about those chores being necessary. If keeping your house clean is such an important aspect of life, why do you hire a maid? Since it’s your house, it only seems fair that such an important aspect of your life should be maintained by you. Or, let’s take an example of a the typical diabetic middle aged married couple. The husband loves to eat sweets, and the wife warns  him against eating any as it is unhealthy for both of them, but one day their lovely neighbor returns from a trip to Switzerland and brings them a plethora of chocolates and cakes.  What do you think is going to happen now? Some form of magic plays it’s tunes and suddenly all the sweets disappear( that’s the case with everyone right?).

What I’m trying to say is that hypocrisy is such a common occurrence because of the situations that arise in our lives. I think everyone is motivated in their own way to practice the principles that they want to follow, but this will not happen without any hindrances, and that is where hypocrisy comes into play.

Another aspect of hypocrisy is that there is no escaping it. One way or an other, voluntarily or not, we end up doing contradicting things. Imagine a world where all crime is legal and the only thing that could turn you in, is to be a hypocrite. If you contradict what you preach, you get thrown in jail. If this ever happens, we’d need a lot more prisons because if hypocrisy were a crime, we’d all be in jail.

Arsenal

I have always been an Arsenal fan, all my life, Arsenal was the only club that I wanted to support. I was never lucky enough to watch the likes Thierry Henry  or Dennis Bergkamp play, but what I was fortunate enough to watch, was Arsene’s Wenger’s philosophy. Wenger was as pathetic a manager as much as he was legendary. From winning the Premier League, to Trophy-less seasons, to winning the FA cup to making Arsenal into a Europa League team, this man has done everything. Arsenal never won a Champion’s League during his reign, but that was never really ever possible. I never understood why Mathieu Flamini and Yaya Sanogo were ever signed for the club, they were useless. But at least the last signings of Arsene Wenger could prove to be a good pair. Auba and Mkhi could be the future of the club, but I doubt Unai Emery will ever be as good a manager as Wenger was. Arsenal is going down, they have been losing consistently against all the big teams and they can’t really seem to beat any of them. Defensively they are absolutely shambolic and I see no hope for them.

But they score good goals, they are entertaining to watch when they play well and they can attack and counter attack with speed and precision. That’s what they are good at. Arsenal is a team which, right now seems to be on the decline. I don’t think anything positive can happen in terms of their league position unless a major takeover happens as it did in the case of Manchester City. Although Stan Kroenke is now the proud owner of Arsenal Football Club, I have no faith in him as he doesn’t really care if the club wins trophies, are at least it seems so. Aresnal makes a lot of money, and they will continue to make a lot of money, it seems like the perfect place to invest your money in because it’s like a machine that generates profits, but not trophies. This is mainly due to Arsenal fans, who keep supporting the club while crying and complaining  all night about either the referees or *insert Arsenal defender name*’s terrible performance.

It’s a difficult club to support, yes. But we Arsenal fans have hope, that some day Arsenal will reach it’s former glory. Which I predict, will be next season (and every subsequent season after that until Arsenal actually win something).

The misfit epiphany

A man in his 20’s looking to do something to kill his time in activities other than Netflix and YouTube is something of a common sight nowadays. There are a lot of people just chilling at home doing absolutely nothing in their lives, probably mooching of their parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters or anyone else. Well, that’s me, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll know that the motivation to do something exists, but the execution doesn’t. In other words, I’m all talk and no show, and that’s a problem I don’t know how to fix. With my experience with having friends and staying with them, it is mostly the case that they can only disappoint.  Nobody really cares about a soul other than their own and that’s a fact that doesn’t need changing.  Being alone and being lonely are two different things. Being alone is a choice made by you, being lonely is a choice made for you. With this differentiation in mind, let’s go into what I believe is something of an epiphany.

Being alone is good. It is really good and it helps develop character. You develop principles that you live by and unless you’re a crazy and deranged psychopath, chances are that some alone time will do you some good and for those around you as well. It is when you’re alone that you really start thinking about what exactly you’re doing with your life, and what steps you are taking to make it better. What is most likely the case, is that you have ideas and are unable to put forward those ideas because of factors beyond your control, or at least, that’s what you think.  Whether it’s an idea for business or for personal development, these are things which you need to figure out on your own, and nobody is going to bother helping you. Seeking help will only cause more problems as it will expose you to people who also, do not really have much of an idea about what they are to do with their lives. When this situation arises, it is you who gets stuck in between, not knowing what to do, giving rise to a different set of problems.

Being alone does not mean not being in a relationship, or a group of friends or anything of that sort, it means to trust yourself more than anyone else. By being alone, you can take command of your life and free yourself from any bullshit that’s been going on, and quite frankly there’s always a lot of bullshit going on all around the world. Take the “kiki” challenge or any other challenge for example. By starting off a convention where people do stupid things for five minutes of internet fame, people expose others to do the same, and by doing so it has lead to many injuries and fatalities as well. Now this trend is not really going to stop, because people are attracted to stupid things. Being attracted to stupid things is absolutely fine, but if it leads to you getting injured or someone getting hurt, perhaps you should reconsider?

So if you are not to trust someone else, and are not to do dumb things that people do, where should you go to seek solutions? Well, the internet exists for a reason right? There is nothing you can’t do online. From learning guitar, to investing in companies, there has never been a wider range of solutions available in such abundance during any other previous time periods. When that is the case, the internet is our biggest asset, and before any giant corporation tries to monetize our most valuable asset for their selfish needs (which is already happening), we should look for ways to make the internet itself a part of our lives in more productive ways other than social media. Social media, is probably going to decline, because in all of these websites, there is only so much that can be brought in. It is now possible to start entrepreneurial activity online and generate revenue according to the skill possessed  by you. You can even make money even if you don’t have any skill, take Lil Pump for example. He has no idea about anything, but what he can do is make some beats, which are slightly average at best, but what he is good at doing is at seizing his opportunity even while being an idiot with no skill, that makes him a genius.

Whether you’re a writer, blogger, singer, dancer, entertainer, business enthusiast or even a completely unskilled moron, you CAN still make a LOT of money online, provided you are motivated and productive enough to stay committed to the cause. This is not me just saying this, there is enough evidence to prove that if you are good enough, the internet will make you money and that is exactly what I hope to be someday, to be good enough a writer to be able to make money through this blog. I believe as my first ever blog post, I want to let you know about why I started this blog, and what I plan on doing with it, which is why I have posted this, saying the things that I’ve said. With that being said, I was only able to do this because I thought of it in my alone time and I thank all those who have motivated me and given me advice to start and act upon what I believe will bring me success.

This is my boredomcure, not yours.

Her past

FACED WITH THE FEARS OF HER PAST

She was lonely, in a dark and unforgiving world. Not alone in presence, but alone in the mind. Such is the way fear works, it makes the weak stronger, and the strong, weaker. Time made sure that her world only grew darker, every glimmer of light Was shut down and every instance of hope was banished. The darkness took over, leaving her to die, tortured with the past, which now haunted her. Unaware of what lies ahead, she tries to give up, but time had other plans for her. Time wouldn’t let Her give up, as time passed, she grew more conscious, she understood more, she began to accept. But, redemption was not yet to be As the worst was yet to come. She had lived through it all, tortured and cursed, without a choice, without freedom and without Independence. Filled with regret, anger and lament, she cried in pain, in a lonely dark world. What she desired was now a lost Dream, what she dreamed was a lost desire. Every time she closed her eyes, she could see what could have been, and every time she opens her eyes, she sees what is. Not knowing why, not knowing how she begins to look in despair, but it comes to no avail, as only Time shall tell. She doesn’t give up, she doesn’t want to anymore, she gets herself up and faces the world, only to be pushed down again, by Forces out of her control. Weak from the last attack, she is once again afraid, but yet again, is struck down by time’s grief.
